The unforgettable success of the 2025 European Running Championships called for a sequel. That sequel arrives on Sunday, April 19 with the Leuven Marathon.
With a great recipe, you hardly need to change the ingredients. Expect once again three distances (10 km, half marathon, or full marathon) and a very similar course running through the heart of Leuven, starting and finishing at Sportoase. Marathon runners will enjoy a brand-new loop through the Forests of Brabant.
Along the way, DJs, live acts, and thousands of enthusiastic supporters will make it an incredible experience all the way to the finish line.
First Leuven Marathon a Resounding Success
Even though the Leuven Marathon built on the tremendous success of last year’s European Running Championships, it proved to be a resounding success. Thanks to the 17,900 participants it exceeded expectations and again turned into a wonderful running celebration enjoyed by the entire city and the many supporters lining the route. Conditions were perfect for running at 9 a.m. this morning at the start of the 10K and marathon. A glorious morning sun warmed the participants in the starting grids.
